The Madiga have a wide geographical distribution. They are distributed all over south India, Maharashtra and Odisha.
ANDHRA PRADESH & TELANGANA
In combined Andhra Pradesh, according to 2011 census the total scheduled caste population is  1,38,78,078 persons among them 69,13,047 are males and 69,65,031 are females persons. The scheduled castes are predominantly found in rural areas. The living population in rural is 1,08,46,333 and in urban they are 30,31,745 persons. The working persons population is 70,06,817 and the remain population was non-workers i.e., 68,71,261. The literates among scheduled caste is 76,78,259 and remaining persons are illiterates i.e., 61,99,819.
Madiga Caste has the largest population of the Scheduled Castes in Andhra Pradesh forming 48.29% of the total SC population of Andhra Pradesh.
In combined Andhra Pradesh, according to 2011 census the total Madiga population is  67,02,609 persons, among them 33,49,277 are males and 33,53,332 are females persons. The Madigas are predominantly found in rural areas. The living Madiga population in rural is 53,87,439 and in urban they are 13,15,170 persons.

The below information indicates the Christian population in combined Andhra Pradesh. The majority of the Christians are from Madiga and Mala community. As per 2011 census the Christian population is 11,81,917.
